Some software is available through campus or the CSE department.

Windows OS and Some Microsoft Software

Microsoft Azure is a campus wide program  which provides Microsoft software to faculty, staff and students.

Microsoft Office

There are a couple of different ways to get Microsoft Office:

  1. Office 365:  Use your UCSD campus account to log in and can download the applications. This is currently the preferred method.

  2. Individual Office license: these can be purchased through the campus Marketplace. However, these versions now require an occasional UCSD network check-in. Contact for more information.

Microsoft Software on OEC-Supported Machines

This is mostly department staff and a handful of faculty office machines.  For these, campus has a MCCA (Microsoft) agreement, managed for us through OEC.  Please contact for information.


The department also has a VMware license available to CSE faculty, staff, and grad students.  Contact for access.
