We are currently offering remote (online, meeting via Zoom) and in-person advising appointments for CSE majors.
For Winter 2024, our front Intake Office will open beginning Monday, January 8th, and will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 9:00 AM - 12:00PM and 1:00 - 3:30 pm for the remainder of the quarter. The front Intake Office is closed every Wednesday and Friday.

How to contact CSE Undergraduate Advising:
- Virtual Advising Center (VAC)

Current undergraduate students can always submit quick advising questions through the Virtual Advising Center (vac.ucsd.edu).
- An advisor will respond with 2-3 business days (sometimes longer during enrollment periods).
- CSE Advisors will not advise undergraduate students via email.
- During peak periods (enrollment), VAC inquiries are prioritized.
- Degree Audit change requests take 3-5 business days to process.
- Drop-In Advising (fast 15 minute advising sessions)

Drop-in advising is best for quick questions (degree audit updates, current/next quarter enrollment, getting Advisor signatures, etc.) Students will be able to sign in to drop-in advising using the Meet with Advisor tool in the Virtual Advising Center (vac.ucsd.edu) without an appointment during the times specified on the calendar below (typically Monday afternoons and Friday mornings).

Due to the high demand for CSE major appointments, the Student Affairs Advisors will not be able to accommodate appointments for non-CSE majors. Non-CSE major students should plan to attend drop-in advising instead. Students can contact CSE Advisors through the VAC as well (vac.ucsd.edu). Advising appointments are best for an in-depth discussion about your educational plan. CSE Majors may begin requesting Winter Quarter 1:1 pre-scheduled advising appointments (virtual or in-person) starting Monday of Week 1 (January 8th) for appointments that will begin in Week 3. To schedule an appointment: please email csestudent@ucsd.edu.

Official Campus Closure Dates:
The campus is closed on all the major holidays: New Years Eve and New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Cesar Chavez Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
