The CSE Celebration is a day-long event at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at UC San Diego. This event recognizes the wealth of contributions from all the different kinds of people in our community. The event also provides a forum to discuss how we can continue to evolve to become a community of inclusive excellence. This annual event is led by the CSE Department's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) committee.
Celebration of Diversity
We host the inagural CSE Celebration of Diversity. Featuring an opening keynote, interactive workshops led by CSE and UCSD community members, a discussion panel with students and alumni, and more.
Professor Pamela Cosman's opening keynote presentation was entitled "Gender in STEM: Trends, Paradoxes, and Job Talks".
Throughout the day, people from all over campus came to sit in the Red Chair, an idea started by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT). Watch the video on the left to see why everyone sat and who they sat for.
