Four CSE Undergrad Specialties in Top 10 in Latest US News & World Report Rankings

The latest rankings also show UC San Diego's computer science program is No. 8 among public institutions.

The US News & World Report ranks UC San Diego Department of Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate program in the top 10 nationwide in several specialties, including artificial intelligence, computer systems, mobile and web applications and data analytics/science.

Among public institutions, CSE’s undergraduate program is ranked No. 8 in the nation.

“These rankings are a recognition of the effort that our faculty and staff put in delivering a high-quality inclusive program that educates the computing thought leaders of tomorrow,” said CSE Department Chair Sorin Lerner.

CSE’s graduate program in Computer Science and Engineering was ranked #11 in recent U.S. News and World Report Graduate Program Rankings. UC San Diego has risen to its 11th spot in 2022 from #30 in 1994. And according to CSrankings.org, a metrics-based ranking of top computer science institutions in the world, UC San Diego ranks #4 in computer science research.
