Course Articulations Guide

The following Course Articulation Guide is for CSE coursework:

For transfer coursework, course articulation credit is issued based on the term the student took the course, not on the term that the student is admitted to UCSD.

For courses taken before Summer 2017, students may use the legacy articulations through Assist.org.

For courses taken between Fall 2017 - Summer 2019, students can check to see if the courses are articulated for CSE coursework at UCSD by following a few steps:

Step 1: Check legacy articulations on Assist.org:

  • If the course is listed for credit in 2016-2017, then move on to Step 2A.
  • If the course is not listed for credit, move on to Step 2B (see Figure 1)

Step 2A: Check the new articulations under the Course Guide List on the Course Transferability Guide webpage for the academic year the course was taken (i.e. Fall 2017-Summer 2018 or Fall 2018 - Summer 2019).

  • If there are no updated guides for the CSE department on the new site, the course is still articulated for the credit listed on the legacy articulations page through Assist.org
  • If there is a new CSE department guide posted, but the course no longer appears on the new site, then the course is no longer articulated for CSE credit at UCSD.

Step 2B: Check the new articulations under the Course Guide List on the Course Transferability Guide webpage for the academic year the course was taken (i.e. Fall 2017-Summer 2018 or Fall 2018 - Summer 2019).

  • If there are no updated guides for the CSE department on the new site, the course is still not articulated for CSE credit at UCSD.
  • If the course does appear on the new site, then the course is articulated for CSE credit at UCSD as listed in the guide

Figure 2 shows Step 2A: Articulation removed for College of the Canyons: whereas for 2016-2017, there was an articulation listed for CSE 8A credit, the credit no longer appears for 2018-2019 on the Course Transferability Guide. Therefore students may no longer receive CSE 8A credit for CMPSCI 111/111L if taken FA18 or afterward Articulations listed for College of San Mateo, therefore students may receive credit for the course if taken during the approved academic year
